How to store an infusion at home?
The way we pack an infusion in our homes and the places we choose to store them are essential for us to enjoy their properties and flavor to the fullest!
How long does an infusion last?
The life of an infusion depends on how it is stored.
If stored in a can or container protected from the air it can last for about 1-2 years, while if it is stored only in a paper bag it lasts for about 4 months. After this period, the infusions are not spoiled but start to lose their flavor.
Situations in which infusions are spoiled are rare. Usually this happens when they are exposed to environments with excessive humidity or too hot.
Where is the best place to store an infusion?
All infusions must be stored in a dry and cool place away from light, humidity and heat sources. So the best place is naturally the pantry or a cupboard in the kitchen.
The fridge is therefore a prohibited place, due to the humidity and odors of other foods that will probably pass into our infusion.
Once we have the right place for our infusion, is it safe yet? Not necessarily…
The infusions are very sensitive, so if we store them together with foods or products with an intense aroma such as spices or coffee, this can also affect their quality.
