Since 2004, the EWG (Environmental Working Group (EWG) has drawn up the list of the “Dirty Dozen”.
This EWG list alerts us to pesticide residues that we can find in foods produced by conventional agriculture and whose use is absolutely prohibited in organic production methods.
Based on analyzes carried out by the US Department of Agriculture and Food and the Drug Administration, this is the list of the 12 fruits and vegetables most contaminated with pesticides this year:
1- Strawberries
2- Spinach
3- Cabbages
4- Grapes
5- Peaches
6- Pears
7-Nectarines
8-Apples
9-Peppers
10- Cherries
11- Blueberries
12- Green Beans
Between 13 and 23 pesticides were found in at least one sample from each group of fruits and vegetables.
In total of the samples carried out, around 209 pesticides were found.
